| SATURDAY, MAY 18TH, 2024: As a slow moving upper trough crosses through the area, rain showers will overspread the area through this evening. For those in the Central Virginia Piedmont into the Shenandoah Valley and Potomac Highlands, there will be a risk for flash flooding this morning. Otherwise, it will be a cool and cloudy days with well below normal temperatures due to the persistent onshore winds. Expect more breaks in the clouds on Sunday with much warmer weather. The theme of increasing warmth persists into the work week. Dry conditions are expected through Tuesday before an approaching cold front brings a chance of showers and thunderstorms by mid-week. |
